For studios where you run the desk
Every client. Every pack. Every dollar. One quiet page.
Studio Kata is scheduling, class packs, and money tracking for independent trainers and small studios. It always knows exactly how many sessions everyone has left — so you never scroll old texts to answer a client again.
30 days free. No demo call — there's no sales team to call you.

Is this for you?
Half the studios out there should not buy this.
Studio Kata is for you if
- You set the schedule — clients text you to book.
- You sell privates, duets, and 5 / 10 / 20-packs.
- You get paid by Venmo, Zelle, cash, or check.
- You're done with the binder, the spreadsheet, and the $200-a-month suite you use 10% of.
It's not for you if
- You need clients to book themselves into group classes online.
- You want built-in card processing.
- You want email-marketing campaigns.
Those three aren't missing. They're left out on purpose — they're what makes the other tools cost $200 a month and feel like a second job.
The work, shown working
No demo call. This is the demo.
Real screens, real workflow — the seeded studio below is what your first afternoon looks like.
The day
Open it and know your Tuesday.
Today's sessions with the gaps between them, who's up next, and whose pack is running low — surfaced before your first client arrives, not discovered after your last.

The week
A calendar that carries the week.
Book in two taps, drag to move, see the month settle into place. Your bookings can feed the calendar app you already live in — without you retyping a thing.

The packs
Sell a 10-pack. The count keeps itself.
Every session you log draws down the right pack. When someone books past their last session, you hear about it before they do — renewals stop slipping through.
The balance is never a guess.

The money
Cash in, expenses out, taxes visible.
Revenue by month and by payment method, expenses, tax-year summaries, and the effective hourly rate you actually earned. Every number exports to CSV for your accountant.

The link
Your clients check their own balance.
Send one link. No app to install, no login, no password resets. It's always current, and when it's time to renew, Venmo opens pre-filled. The "how many do I have left?" texts just stop.
Studio Kata takes 0% of your payments. Money moves from your client to you. We never touch it — so we can't charge for it.

Your words
It speaks your studio's language.
Client, Class, Pack, Trainer — the four words the app is built on are yours to rename. Pick your practice; every screen follows.
Kept simple
Fast, offline, and yours to leave.
Fast because it's small.
The whole app is one page. No spinners between you and your schedule.
Works where studios actually are.
Basement space, dead spot, airplane — it opens offline and syncs when you're back.
Your data is never hostage.
Every client, session, and dollar exports to CSV any time — including during the trial. Leaving takes one click. We'd rather be worth keeping.

The price
One price. Everything. No contract.
or $290 a year — two months free
- Unlimited clients, packs, and sessions
- Scheduling with day, week, and month views
- Client balance links with Venmo prefill
- Money, expenses, and tax-year summaries
- CSV import and export, any time
- Your terminology, light and dark themes
- Every future feature — there's one plan
30 days free. When the trial ends, your account goes read-only — nothing is deleted, export stays open.
Founding studios: the first 100 accounts lock in $19/month, for as long as you stay.
For scale
Mindbody's entry plan runs about $129/month before ~3.6% + 30¢ card processing and a 20% commission on marketplace-referred clients. On a $6,500/month studio, purpose-built suites cost $300–$500 a month once the processing take lands. (As of Aug 2026 — sources.)
Studio Kata is $29, flat. No per-client tiers, no processing take, no setup fee, no annual contract. The price is the price.
What you'll never see
- "Contact us for pricing"
- A surprise plan-increase email
- A fee for exporting your own clients
- A cut of your revenue
The first studio
Built for one studio first.
Studio Kata began as one working instructor's back office — built session by session around her real schedule, her real packs, her real taxes, and used every day since. It wasn't designed for a demo. It was shaped by a studio.
Kata (型) is the practiced form — the sequence you've run so many times it becomes calm. That's what your admin should feel like.

From the floor
Reserved for real words.
No invented praise on this page — these spots are held for founding studios' own sentences, names attached. Yours could be one of them.
This space is waiting for a founding studio's honest sentence about the binder it replaced.
This one is held for the first trainer who stops getting "how many do I have left?" texts.
And this one, for whoever finally cancels the suite they were using 10% of.
Asked and answered
The questions a salesperson would dodge.
Where's online booking for my clients?
There isn't any, on purpose. You book; clients get a link to see their balance. If your model needs clients booking themselves into classes, we're honestly not your tool — Punchpass or Momence will fit you better. If your schedule is a conversation, you're home.
How do I get my clients in?
CSV import, with a template. Export from Mindbody, Vagaro, or your spreadsheet, match the columns, done — most studios are moved in within an afternoon.
Is there a contract?
No. Month to month, cancel inside the app, no call required. Annual is optional and only exists for the discount.
Client limits?
No. The price is the price — growing your roster is your reward, not our upsell.
Can I get my data out?
Everything exports to CSV, any time, including during the trial. Lock-in is the incumbents' strategy. Ours is being worth keeping.
Is my clients' data secure?
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, isolated per business, and never sold or shared. You can export or delete everything yourself. The plain-English details live on our security page.
What happens when the trial ends?
Your account goes read-only. Nothing is deleted, your export still works, and if you subscribe later everything is exactly where you left it. Your data never gets held hostage to make you pay.
Do you take a cut of my payments?
0%. Payments move directly from your client to you over Venmo, Zelle, cash, or check. We never touch the money, so we can't charge for it. (If you use a Venmo business profile, Venmo's own 1.9% + 10¢ applies — still a fraction of a platform's processing take.)
